SELF CARE

Fall has a way of speeding everything up. Schedules fill back in, the days get shorter, and before you know it, you're running from one thing to the next without really stopping. Self-care is usually the first thing to go — not because it isn't important, but because it feels like one more thing on the list.

Here's the good news: a real reset doesn't take a spa day or a free afternoon. Twenty minutes, a few intentional steps, and some products you actually enjoy using can make a bigger difference than you'd expect — for your skin and your headspace.

Here's how to make it happen.

Minutes 1–3: Set the Scene

Before you do anything else, give yourself permission to actually slow down. Put your phone on silent (or in another room), dim the lights, and make the space feel cozy. Light a candle, make a mug of tea, or put on a playlist that helps you unwind.

This step matters more than it seems. Your mind needs a signal that it's time to switch gears — otherwise you'll spend the whole twenty minutes mentally answering emails.

Minutes 3–5: Breathe and Clear Your Head

Sit somewhere comfortable and take a few slow, deep breaths — in through your nose for four counts, out through your mouth for six. Longer exhales help your body shift out of "go" mode and into rest.

If your mind is racing, grab a notebook and jot down whatever's on it. A to-do list, a worry, three things you're grateful for — it doesn't matter. Getting it out of your head and onto paper makes it much easier to let it go for a little while.

Minutes 5–15: Warm Up and Unwind

As the weather cools, there's nothing quite like warmth to help your body relax. Choose whichever option fits your night:

If you have a tub: Draw a warm (not hot) bath and add a scoop of the Peppermint Calm Bath Soak. The Dead Sea salt, magnesium, and peppermint blend makes it feel like a true spa moment — refreshing and relaxing at the same time.

If you're a shower person: Turn the water to lukewarm and use the Spearmint Eucalyptus Body Polish to gently buff away dry, rough skin. The blend of minty spearmint and woodsy eucalyptus creates a crisp, revitalizing aroma and the oils leave your skin soft instead of stripped. Focus on elbows, knees, and heels — the spots that dry out first as the weather changes.

Either way, use this time to just be. No planning, no scrolling. Just warmth, scent, and quiet.

Minutes 15–18: Lock in Moisture

Pat your skin dry (don't rub!) and moisturize while it's still slightly damp — that's when your skin holds onto hydration best.

For your body, the Lavender Vanilla Calm Body Cream is made for exactly this moment. It's rich enough to rescue dry legs and heels, and the lavender and vanilla make it a lovely part of a wind-down routine before bed.

If you have a little tension in your neck and shoulders after a long day, massage in a small amount of the Recovery Balm. Its warm, spiced blend feels perfectly suited to fall.

Minutes 18–20: Finish Cozy

Slip into soft pajamas and warm socks (bonus: socks over freshly moisturized feet help the cream soak in overnight). Finish your tea, take one more deep breath, and notice how you feel compared to twenty minutes ago.

That's it. No elaborate routine, no pressure to be perfect.

Make It a Habit

The beauty of this reset is that it's small enough to actually repeat. Try it once a week — Sunday evenings are a great way to start the week feeling grounded — or anytime you notice you're running on empty.

You don't have to do every step every time, either. Some nights, it might just be the bath. Other nights, a few minutes of breathing and a good body icing. What matters is carving out a little time that's just for you.

The Bottom Line

Self-care doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming to be meaningful. Twenty intentional minutes can help you slow down, reconnect with your body, and give your skin a little extra love as the seasons change.
